PHILADELPHIA'S WALK OF FAME

A sidewalk plaque honoring Chubby Checker near the Hyatt at the Bellevue (Bellvue-Stratford) Hotel on Broad Street, Philadelphia.

The Philadelphia Music Foundation has set these plaques honoring those stars of stage, screen, and music who were born and raised in Philadelphia. I took a lot of photos of these plaques when I was last in the Hyatt at the Bellevue, including Bill Cosby's, but haven't located it on the digital image disc. The following are some of the other plaques that line both the north and south sides of Broad Street over the blocks that include the Bellevue. Most these names should be familiar. As I locate more of these images on the digital camera, the best will be resized and posted here. Whenever you make it to Philadelphia to see Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell, and the other historic sites, take a little side trip to walk these Broad Street blocks and check out all of these tributes to Philadelphia's outstanding performers.
